For Easter this year, we drove to Las Vegas to have some family time and visit with Todd's sister and neice and nephews. I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive. There is something about traveling with three kids, one of whom is still in a crib, that makes me nervous. I think about all the packing that will be required, and the sleeping arrangements, which could literally be a nightmare, and the kids' schedules getting interrupted, etc.etc.etc.....largely because of that, this was our first family vacation since Brenna was born! But I am SO SO glad we did it because it completely exceeded all of my expectations and I realized I was worried over nothing!
Before we left, the Easter bunny decided to make a visit so he didn't have to follow us all the way to Nevada.

Mommy, this is the BEST!
After we were done with the Easter festivities, we packed up the car and off we went. I have no pictures for you, but I can surely paint for you an image of what the drive up there was like....three cranky kids on a sugar high yet strapped in the car (not such a great idea after all!), a barking dog, a sick to her stomach mother in law.....you get the picture, right??
But....finally we got there! And the first thing we did was let the kids play at the park with their cousins to let out some of their pent up energy! |
Then, it was off to Auntie Paige's house and the Easter fun continued with egg decorating

Cousins Tryston and Hayden having fun with their creations. |
Later that night, we finally checked in at our hotel, which was the Cancun Resort, and it was incredible! Two rooms, a family room and a full kitchen is definitely the way to go when traveling with kids. The girls absolutely loved it!!
The first thing Brenna did was find a cool trash can that was just her size :) |
Cuddle time! |
Something I really enjoyed about being the hotel which I didn't anticipate was the small space. I loved having everyone together in one room for most of the day and at night. It was such a great time of family bonding and I can't wait for our next vacation!
After a great night sleep (another surprise, and something I am thankful for), we headed off to the pool where they were having a special breakfast with the Easter Bunny.

Hayden was loving it! |
She also loved the Easter Bunny. Brenna on the other hand, not so much!
After breakfast it was pool time!!! BRenna refused to go in the water, but my other two had a blast. Hayden is like a fish! |
Her favorite thing to do is jump to Daddy |
Logan my swimsuit model! |
After swimming, we went to visit with Paige and the entire family for an Easter celebration with all of the cousins.

Hayden modeling for the camera....do I see a theme here? |

Timmy (the 12 year old) is laughing because he's taller than me! Doesn't take much I guess! lol. |

Cuties! |
The next day was time to leave so we spent the day at the Wax museum before driving home. It was amazing to see how real they make them look, and we all had a blast!
This was the very first one with Will Smith. I love Hayden and Brenna's faces!! They are thinking - what is this guy doing and why isn't he moving??? |
Logan and Cameron Diaz |
Look how tall Shaq is! |
Lindsey Lohan and Logan. She fits right in! |
Haha! Todd doesn't look too convicing here! I don't know who that guy is but I'm assuming he's a good fighter |
This was Beyonce. I couldn't really tell it was her until I read her card |
Johnny Depp was probably the best one there! He looked soooo real. |
Todd's dream girl (besides me of course) |
Golfing with Tiger! |
Honest Abe |
My dream guy Matthew McConaughey
I was a little disappointed because he wasn't one of the better ones. Definitely cuter in the movies! |
Brad and Angelina. I love Hayden's face here!! |
We all LOVE Simon Cowell! |
And we ended our trip with none other than President Obama in the White House!!
Overall, I'd have to say our first offical family of five vacation was a complete success!! |
